The Toasted Chosen, as we lovingly call them (5,000 people) stormed Dallas, Texas for the filming of Feeding the 5,000, bravely fighting the scorching heat! What an incredible sight! The biblical account of what happened came to life.
The experience of literally watching God's word come to life was emotional for many on set. It was truly a spiritual revelation of what it was like for Christ to have performed such an incredible miracle. The scene could have been created by special effects but they wanted to include real people who contributed to the show, the ones who made it possible.
The Chosen's Executive Producer, Derral Eves, braved the heat and took us behind the scenes and who interviewed many including Dallas Jenkins.
We were taken on a tour of the little village outside Decapolis by Kris and Chris, and it was fascinating to learn and see the details behind its building. This is wonderful that they actually try to recreate how things were in Jesus' time so that it is true to what would have happened there. Kris was even kind enough to teach us what a “hot set” is. LOL! Be sure to watch the Livestream to find out what I mean.
Tyler Thompson, one of the writers of The Chosen, revealed that season 3 has a few surprises we don't want to miss, including Andrew's new journey.
The thing that I loved most about this Livestream was that EVERYONE gave God the glory. HE is truly the one behind the making of The Chosen, orchestrating it all. From the beginning and still today, The Chosen has put Christ at the forefront. Because of this, The Chosen has been extremely successful and has affected millions of people around the world. When we honor God with everything we do, when we put him at the center of our lives, and when we allow him to lead, he blesses what we do.
Lastly, Alex shared his testimony of how he sent a message to Dallas over five years ago at 4 in the morning in the lowest moment of Dallas' career. God prompted him out of the blue to tell him, “It's not your job to feed the 5,000, it's only to provide the loaves and fish.” and Alex obeyed. I am so glad he did!
Alex shared with us, “Anytime God tells you to do something, obviously vet make sure it's you know from him, but don’t ever be afraid to do something God tells you to do, big or small, you never know, encouraging somebody, giving somebody something, saying something that you maybe you feel uncomfortable saying, you have no idea what it’ll lead to, sometimes it just puts a smile on their face and makes them feel better, sometimes it leads to something like this, you don’t know that but God does so I would encourage you to take that action..”
I couldn’t agree more! Remember it's not your job to feed the 5,000 but to only provide the loaves and fishes and then sit back and watch God move!!
