HE IS RISEN

Updated: Apr 25, 2022

This week is not about our plans to get together with families, Easter egg hunts, chocolate bunnies, or even a packed-out Sunday service.

This week is about remembering what was done for us. In all honesty, it should be something that we reflect on regularly.

Jesus came as a man to heal and save those who were lost. In turn, he was captured, beaten beyond human recognition, flesh torn apart, humiliated, mocked, spat on, his bloodshed, and a crown made out of thorns pierced his head. He was then nailed to a cross to suffer a horrific death.

What they got wrong was he wasn't captured; he came to surrender himself in our place. He defeated death, hell, and the grave for us! He defeated anything and everything we would ever face on this earth.

What they didn't expect is that 3 days later he would rise from the dead and take his place at the right hand of God!! If we could grasp the understanding of the cross, truly grasp it, we will know that NOTHING that we face, or go through can withstand the power of what happened at the cross. Nothing!

So next time you're facing something, lay it down at the cross!

Matthew 28:6

He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying

Mark 16:6

And he *said to them, “Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him.

Revelation 1:18

and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
